Inspire Me Thursday #22

Isn't this picture so pretty? I say this a lot, but I really do like everything about it. :]
Aww, I miss my childhood hampster.
This artwork is very strange (in a really good way). It has so much detail in it, it's crazy good.
Oh my, you beautiful beast. Look at that eye. Beautiful.
Bunnies, enough said. :]

Things I'm looking forward to...

I made this GIF a while ago and it's just been sitting there in my drafts. I randomly found it and it got me thinking about spring and summer.
There's a lot of things I'm looking forward to in the months to come, like; going for longer walks with Captain, visiting the beach, swimming, taking more pictures, taking more instax pictures outside, sunshine, warm windy days, not having to wear a jacket, cute dresses, sandals, drawing outside, capris, ice cream, iced caps, sprinklers, visiting the zoo, sleeping with the fan and A/C on, maybe getting a shorter hair cut, planning/getting my next tattoo, painting more, fan expo, bike rides, visiting friends, road trips, picking flowers, running away from bees, opening all the windows, finding shade on those really hot days, really cold glasses of water, seeing baby animals, possibly camping with the family, kite flying, and so much more but I can't really think of anymore right now.

What are you looking forward to now that it's getting warmer?

Ugly Americans

So I'm finally getting around to making a post about this. A few months back I ended up getting my first job in animation as an inbetweener on the show called Ugly Americans. (Yaaaay!) Very exciting for me and I had such a great experience at the studio, Solis Animation.
I will be able to post more once the episodes I worked on air, and those will air in april. So expect another post (or two) about this maybe early may.
The new episodes are actually a continuation of season 2 but some people see it at season 3. The new episodes will be are airing on comedy network after South Park. So if you're a fan of South Park (or know anyone who is...) then check out Ugly Americans because you'll probably like it. It's funny and mostly hand-drawn, which is pretty rare in animated shows today.
If you're interested you can find the first new episode (since it's already aired) here. By now though there should be a second episode out too.
Here is a shot of the studio. I'm waaay in the corner by the door and windows.
This must have been one of the last days of work and they surprised us with pizza and an ice cream cake. I like this shot because everyone's so happy and smiling. :]
The studio also held a little party after we had finished. We got some goody bags and awesome t-shirts!
Hopefully people like the show (it's really good) and it does well. And hopefully I'll be able to work on the next season. :]

P.S. Almost all the images/photos in this post are not mine. I found a lot of them on the Ugly Americans and Solis Facebook pages.

Zigzag shirt tutorial

After finishing my Galaxy shirt, I started starring at my big jug of bleach. I want to bleach everything now! And this got me thinking about making some more shirts.
For this very simple tutorial all you'll need is; a t-shirt (or any shirt), some tape (I used masking tape) a little spray bottle, and some bleach.
Use your tape to make a sort of zigzag design on your shirt. Notice how my zigzags look great on the bottom (that's where I started) and get all funky at the top? That's cause I wasn't paying attention. Don't be like me and take your time!
TIP: Iorn your shirt down on the floor for a nicer zigzag because if you don't you'll be spraying bleach on wrinkles. If you're wondering how to safely iron on the floor, use a towel.
Now get your spray on! Remember you don't need a lot of bleach.
This is what my shirt looked like after a few minutes.
Here is the end result. I planned on doing zigzags all the way around my shirt but I only ended up doing one side. I think it still looks cool. And I actually like that the zigzags are kind of off.
Justin calls this my Charlie Brown shirt. :]

P.S. I might have one more bleach and shirt related tutorial... I hope that's okay.

This past weekend...

I feel bad that I haven't been posting much. So much work! So I thought I'd share some pictures I took over the past few days, mostly this past weekend.
We played with Capatin.
We did a lot of dishes, well maybe not that much.
I made some of my awesome banana bread. I like my banana bread to have the same texture as (moist) brownies, if that makes sence?
Watched some of my plants start to grow! These are green onions. :]
And some small flowers.
We had some foggy nights too.
Captain got a bath!
Yes he did, yes he did. :]

Inspire Me Thursday #20

Such a sweet picture!
Very cool looking. Obviously I really like the hair and face.
So pretty, Love everything about this. This artist is one of my favourites.
I'm liking everything this girl is wearing. Awesome glasses and scarf.
I have a always found x-rays so interesting. I think I've only ever had one done. I should have asked for a copy or something.

Cupcakes for Jessa

Not too long ago I was contacted by Jessa of Confessions of the Cupcake Countessa to do a small design for her blog/shop. She contacted me at a perfect time too, since I had just finished the contract with my last job and had a few weeks of spare time. So below are a few sketches and the finished digital designs I ended up doing for her.
I loved drawing these cause cupcakes and cute girls are so fun to draw!
The sketches, I really liked the ones on the left.
I think pink and yellow go so well together, don't you?
I really like how the strawberries and cute little heart lace on the dress turned out. :]
This was just something extra I did for fun, for Jessa. I just felt like drawing a few more cupcakes.
And Jessa was awesome enough to do a few posts about my artwork over on her blog as well. Check them out here, here and here. :]
