Movies of August Review

Total Recall
So I actually didn't really care to see this movie and well I didn't like it that much. Okay, it wasn't terrible but I didn't leave the movies thinking 'that was money well spent'. The CGI was great and lots of action-y parts but it felt like something was missing maybe more story...? or even just characters talking more instead of just running around and shooting? Also, at times I found the acting wasn't that great.
The Bourne Legacy
I wasn't really into seeing this movie either. There were a couple parts I really liked... (like the beginning!) but overall I feel... meh about it. It seemed like it wasn't really going anywhere. The ending sucked! The second half of the movie was just a big loooong chase scene... and that's it. At one point during the big chase scene I actually zoned out and when I zoned back in, nothing had changed! They were still being chased. Even if I were to call this a 'guy movie' there wasn't that much action/fighting going on. I was waiting for a big fight off or show down, you know.
Hope Springs
I'm the one that wanted to go see this one, obviously. This movie was pretty good, something a bit different from what we normally see. Had some god funny moments, had some really awkward moments... and had some sad moments. Good movie especially for anyone in a commited relationship. Justin was making little jokes before the movie started but I saw him laughing and smiling throughout the movie.
Expendables 2
This movie, like the last one is just full of funny little one liners and lots of action. Love it. The girl was kinda useless, umm.. and that is all I can really say about this one. It's just a guy-movie with some funny back and forth talking and big guns and fists. :]
 Paranorman
So I went to go see this one, twice. So good. I know it's kind of a childrens movie but I don't think I would let my kid under 8 watch this one. Just a bit too scary maybe. I saw a few parents with small kids walk out of this one after the first 10 minutes of so. The animation is so great. I seriously forgot it was stop-motion sometimes. And I loved all the characters, such a neat and different film.

Fan Expo Cosplayers

Here are a few pictures of some people that dressed up during Fan Expo. Most of these pictures were taken infront of the table or on my way to/from the washroom. I must say though, I did miss a lot of very good costumes, a lot of people don't actually walk through the artist alley.
So much awesome!
Another great one!
YESS!
These ladies looked great.
So sweet.
I'm sure if I really tried I probably could have found all the sailor scouts.
Hello, mcfly. :]

P.S. Forgot to say a big thank you in my last post... Thank to anyone who stopped by our table and especially to anyone who bought something. You guys are all so awesome. I wish there were more expos like this that I could go to!

Fan Expo 2012

Here are a bunch of pictures from Fan Expo this year. It was busy-busy but lots of fun! Last year, since it was out first year we decided to not really buy anything since money was tight. This year we ended up getting a bunch of things. Lots of small prints for me.
Here we are setting up our table. As you can see in the back we were one of the early ones.
After we set up, we went walking around to see where everything was. I like seeing all the booths and tables covered up. And we got to see some of the bigger ones still setting up.
I found the wreck-it ralph game. It was free too. It always had a line for it all four days. Pretty cool idea for the movie.
Still walking around...
We found the lego area. Hulk looked awesome!
There always has to be a batman lego too!
Pretty sure everytime Justin left our table, he went here.
Couple more people setting up.
This was probably on Thurs or Fri, some lines of people waiting to get things signed.
There was also the first every Fan Expo wedding. They didn't dress up but their wedding songs were mostly Star Wars theme songs and they said some lines from popular comic books. It was cute.
Walking around artist alley.
A picture of me at our table. Woo!
The guys beside us were actually classmates, going to our school. Pretty cool how that worked out.
Went through the Frankenweenie area a few times because it was so neat to look at all the little models.
I love the girls around the mini hulk.
Walking to the washroom, passing the food court.
This is our table again near the end of Fan Expo, probably Sat or Sun. See it changed a little. Some things got moved around...
This is under our table. So messy!
And this is the end of Fan Expo on Sun, everyone taking down their stands and whatnot. Sad times.

 Short Recap of each day;
Thurs - Wasn't that busy. I didn't sell any prints. My first sale was a bow, and then a sold a bunch of them. I ended up selling some little prints when we had some friends visit our table.
Fri - Kept selling bows. I came back the next day with a bag of fabric so I could restock. I ended up selling a few large prints this day and rings too! The second best day for sales. Sold a lot of bows. I made a really big bow as a display to get peoples attention and someone ended up buying it. So I made a few more big ones and they sold too.
Sat - The busiest day, very crowded. Ended up selling some more prints, lots of more bows. Sold out of a bow and sold out of a few of my mini prints.
Sun - Busy, but not as busy as the day before. Best day for sales. Sold more bows, pretty much ran out of 2 more types of fabric. Prints and rings were doing well too. By this day I took down my brooches because they were not doing well. I also sold one of my paintings, the shy raccoon. Which was the best high ever. Such a good feeling. :D

P.S. I'll make a post about the cosplayers next.

Gro Dinosaurs

I picked up this pink gro dinosaur last time I went home for a buck. I know they're for kids but I couldn't resist, okay!
Into the tin of water for two days.
This is after about a day of sitting in the water. Looks pretty gross.
This is after two days. It didn't really 'grow', more like swelled up from the water... but I knew that what would happen. I just though it would have been bigger! Next time I'll keep it in the water for an extra day, see if it smoothes out a bit.
I don't usually post video links on here but check out this gro dinosaur video! Pretty cool. My guy is already back to its normal size after less than a day out of water.
