Grand Opening!

I finally did it! I opened up my Etsy shop officially yesterday. Yay! I have most of my prints up already and I'll be adding a few more over the week.

To celebrate the grand opening I am giving away FREE mini prints and stickers with every purchase. (while supplies last!)

P.S. If anyone wants to be super nice, I would appreciate helping me spread the word about my new shop. Be it through your own blog, twitters or tumblers. It would mean a lot to me!

3 new paintings!

These two are the first ones I finished. I tried a few new things, and a few things I used to do in high school. I really like the one with the pink background the best.
I started this one and I wasn't liking where it was going. But by the end of it, it turned out to be a favourite. Right now I have it hanging on my wall, we'll see if I ever sell it. Or make more...

PAWS in the Park

Over the weekend I volunteered at the PAWS in the Park event. It's a walk to help raise money for the Toronto Humane Society. I thought I'd sign up for this since it's been pretty hard to get volunteer work that is actually inside the building, helping animals. (which is where I want to be!) But this is still helping. Plus it was close to where I live.
As you can see from the pictures I took, it was kind of a gloomy day. It was also pretty cold, even though I was wearing enough layers. My feet were so cold. This picture above was from the morning when I first arrived at the park. The only sunny picture.
The check point #1 crew. The best crew. We were so loud.
We were the first check point, but also the last one since the trail just doubled back. I should have taken pictures of the crowd at the start of the walk because it was crazy busy... and then it slowed down a lot. Most of these pictures are of people coming back in small groups.
 Look at this cutie!
 A better picture of us.
We all got face painted paws on our cheeks.
And who doesn't like a picture with a mascot?

Instagram update

1.) One of the small paintings I've started. I really like how the background turned out. I'm thinking I might do a bunch of these, but with watercolour.
2.) My hair is still blueish-green. I've been doing pretty good with not washing my hair everyday and using dry shampoo. Here I pined half my hair down to see if I could pull off the half shaved look.
3.) Cute picture of Captain. Enough aid.
4.) I've been going to this salvation army store for a while now. I always find some cool mugs. Sadly I didn't pick up one of these. And I am kicking myself for it.
5.) Another mug picture because I've been getting into teas a lot. Have one everyday almost. And I'm sure I'll be having more tea, more often once it gets colder.
6.) I cut a bunch of my leftover fabric, to be made into bows. That pile of fabric should make just over 100 bows and I'm still going to be shopping for more fabric soon. So exciting!!
7.) I rag rolled/rag curled my hair. It worked! Also, new sweater.
8.) And Justin has been making us soup about twice a week. It's always so good and healthier than what I usually want to eat. :]

Cracker pudding cake

This cracker, pudding, whipped cream cake is so good and it's super easy to make. My mom taught me how to make it years ago, but I have no clue if this cake has an official name. I always call it 'The cracker cake' or 'The cracker pudding cake'. Anyways, let me show you how to make this super easy dessert.
 You'll need:
- a box of (preferably unsalted) crackers
- a tub of cool whip/whipped cream
- at least 2 boxes (or 8 cups/packs?) of your favourite pudding
- a pan
- a spoon or spatula

TIP: Take your whipped cream out of the freezer at least 30 minutes before you start. It's easier to spread if it's a bit melted.
 1. Make your first layer of crackers in your pan. Depending on your pan's size and depth you may need more (or less) crackers. I need 24 crackers for each layer of crackers for my pan. So I ended up using all the crackers in my box for the whole cake.
 2. This is probably the hardest step, because it gets a little messy and you need some patience. After the first cracker layer, I always do my pudding layer. I used 2 packs of pudding for this layer. Using your spoon, spread it around on top of the crackers as best you can.
 3. Add another layer of crackers.
 4. Now add your layer of cool whip/whipped cream.
 5. Add another layer of crackers.

TIP: Be a little stingy with your first layers of pudding and whipped cream. Then when you're doing the middle and top layers, use more pudding and whipped cream. (I used 2 packs of pudding on the first layer, then I used 3 packs for the other 2 layers of pudding)
 6. Continue this pattern of 'cracker, pudding, cracker, whipped cream, cracker, pudding etc...' until you've reached the top of your pan or you've run out of something. I almost always make the top layer, a whipped cream layer.
 7. (Optional) Grab some toppings and spread it around on top of your cake to make it extra sweet. (I grabbed a can of cherry pie topping) Then cover your cake with saran wrap or tin foil and put it in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. The crackers absorb some of the pudding and whipped cream, which makes them a bit softer... which makes the whole cake awesome.

TIP: Obviously you don't have to finish the cake off with cherries. You can put whatever you want on the top, like; blueberries or chocolates.
PRO TIP: Instead of using plain crackers, why not try biscuits? (You know the ones people have with tea or coffee?) Since biscuits are a bit thicker than crackers you can soak the them in some chocolate milk or some alcohol (like baileys!!), only for a few seconds to get some added flavouring.
The only thing I forgot to do was take a picture of a piece of the finished dessert cake... Oh well! Here is a fun little GIF of my process.
I also forgot to add, excuse my small dirty kitchen and stove. I have a very small kitchen and there's more room on the stove top than the counter.

Grojband/Total Drama Screening Party

Last night we went to a little party for the crew on Grojband and Total Drama Island. There were lots of people there that I did not know, a few people a did know and a few people I met for the first time. My voice/throat is sore from all the talking/yelling I was doing. Anyways it was a really fun night, I ended up only taking a handful of pictures.
Important people, the creators of the shows giving a speech.
 Here's Justin making a face.
And lets end this post with a not-so-great picture of me. :]

Tribal Bear + WIP

I don't really have much to say about this painting. I wanted to do a bear, so I did. And I like how it turned out. I feel like I'll be painting a lot...
In other news...I've been sick off and on since Fan Expo and it sucks. First I though it was a cold. Then it turned into strep throat. Then I thought I was good for a few days... and then my throat started hurting again, like a lot. Went back to the doctor and now he says it might be allergies. I've never been allergic to anything, except maybe mosquito bites but that doesn't count. So now all I can do is drink lots of tea and take allergy pills. What a life.
Anyways, as usual there are a few WIP pictures below.
Now on to the next painting!

Nail Art 61: Lines and dots

I love how these pictures all look the same, ugh way to change it up! Here is another design that is all over the place. I don't remember if I had a plan before doing these but clearly, it didn't work out. I'll admit, some of these nails look better than others. Not my best work.
