Toronto Zombie Walk 2013

Ah, another year, another Zombie Walk. Probably one of my favourite years going. Tania came over for a few days and came with me to the Zombie Walk. It was her first time. I think she enjoyed herself, but it was super cold. The coldest Zombie Walk I've ever gone to. Even last year wasn't this bad. It rained and it was super windy. I decorated my cupcake costume from last year with some zombie-like things and went as a Zombie cupcake. I think this might be my Zombie Walk costume forever. It still needs some touching up, plus I want to add something. But good enough for now.
Below are a few pictures I took during the day. Not too many because I was busy walking or trying to stay warm.
At the Zombie Walk, with some fresh blood on.
Braaaaains! The Sugar Spot was also there. This was the first year our Zombie Walk had food vendors. I think a lot of people enjoyed it.
We went inside for a bit to keep warm. Lots of other zombies were thinking the same thing,
The crowd got bigger and bigger. A good sign because I thought less people would show up because of the bad weather.
And Rick Mercer was there. I'm not a fan because I don't really know who he is but Tania was excited.
End of the walk. Yes, super tired.

Thrift dump

It's been a while since I last shared some of my thrifty finds. I haven't had any big thrifting trips lately (I want to make a big thrift haul video!) but I do go about once or twice a week and pick up small things here and there.
Check out this awesome unicorn planter! It's pretty big and I sorta got it because I wanted to repaint it. But now I'm thinking I might just leave it as is.
A pretty plant pot. I love the flowers on it. Reminds me of my grandparents.
Here is a huge mushroom jar. And this picture doesn't do a good enough job of showing you how big it actually is. You need two hands to hold this baby. Still don't know what to do with this... maybe I'll keep my sewing stuff in it?
A very small cup. I just really liked the simple pattern on it. We've been using it to hold our dipping sauces.
Another very small thing. I grab this glass dome because I thought I'd like to display something cute but I don't really have anything that small. I gave it to Justin and he put one of his mini action figures in it. And then put the whole thing in his glass case. Haha.
And I found a bunch of cute mushroom cups one day. I ended up only getting two of them. (In case one of them breaks. It happens a lot.) I did a bad job photographing this one.... the other side of the cup is way prettier!

And that's what I've found so far. Have you found anything cool lately?

Things I like

Here are a few things that I am liking!
So lately whenever I do get the chance to do a WIW post, I've been submitting a picture to Modcloth's Style Gallery. Anyways they added me to the inspiration section for the 'Work to Play Dress' that I loooove. It's such a small thing (doesn't even link me) But It made me super happy when I saw my picture there in the corner.
My Etsy shop. I am so obsessed with Etsy. I mean I liked it before but now I can't stop checking my stats and stuff. My little shop is slowly growing. :]

And I added a few of my cupcake and mushroom rings to my shop. So far they are getting a good reaction. If these do well, I'll be adding the rest of them. And I have a lot just sitting around. The little red mushroom ring is my favourite!
Anyways, that's it for now. Just wanted to remember all these cool things that are happening.

P.S. I'll only be posting major shop updates on the blog. If you're looking for little discounts or updates whenever I add a new print then please follow me on Facebook and/or Twitter.

What I wore: Princess Mononoke

Details
Hair bow: Ardene
Cardigan: H&M
Shirt: Gift - TeeFury
Pants: H&M
Shoes: Payless or Walmart?

Truthfully I don't remember where I got these moccasins from. It's safe to say, that they are probably from Walmart or Payless. Same goes for the pants, I've had them for a while... Not 100% sure they're from H&M but I'm pretty sure.
Anyways, on to the awesome t-shirt! Justin is a pretty big fan of TeeFury, (we love t-shirt sites!) he checks the site regularly. And he saw this design up one day and got it for me. Obviously I was super excited when he showed it to me, it's such a nice design. I love it!

P.S. The last picture makes me laugh. When I saw it on my camera I knew I'd be posting it. Got to have at least one silly/funny faced picture for good measure, right?

Nuit Blanche

This past weekend we went to Nuit Blanche for the second time. The simplest way to describe what this is, is weird abstract art/exhibits outside on the streets. Some of it you look at. Some of it, is interactive... and some of it is just too weird. I spent most of my night making up stories about the exhibits. Like, 'The boat represents us and the string pulling the boat is the government...it's like they're pulling us around man, we need to break free!' haha. I have no clue what most of these exhibits actually meant. It seemed like a lot of them were there just to be strange. But I'm probably wrong. Anyways, pictures!
Our first stop was this big pile of chairs. There was a line to go through the middle to see the inside, but who's got time fo dat?
Some weird thing made of tissue paper. I liked the colours.
A shot of how busy the street was!
 Some sock exhibit.
 String/rope?
I liked this one. It was a short poem with really bright lights. I don't remember exactly what it said. Something like, 'The rose doesn't bloom to be seen... etc.'
Okay and here are a few weird light pictures. I was just having fun waving the camera around while it flashed like 3 times to take one picture.
Obviously the guys were getting annoyed with me.
Weird bike where you share the back tire... I don't know what that's supposed to mean or why you'd make it... just cause you can?
This one was cool. It played music... on it's own... and moved!
If you went right up to this one, you could hear the people on the other side, as if they were whispering in your ear. Pretty cool. The pipes weren't connected either. There was a big space in the middle.
Balloons. Would have loved to have waited in line to get a free giant balloon.
Ended the night with nachos. We tried seeing a few more things after this but it started to get super cold and windy. So we went home. It was a good night though!

Nail Art 62: Halloween blobs

You might noticed something a little different about these photos. Yes I used flash. Gasp. Yeah I took these pictures at night because it was the only free time I had that day. I know it's a big no-no to use flash but... they came out okay. Maybe a little too bright but it's okay.
As you can see I'm getting into the Halloween spirit. Trying out some runny blobs and eyeballs.
