Q&A Video

Well here it is... my first video! Well, my first video where you see my face and I'm talking. I know, exciting stuff, right?! Sorry that the quality isn't amazing and it's sort of dark but I was excited about trying this out for the first time. (I don't seem too excited in the video because I was nervous, haha.) Also, I like to say 'Um' and 'So' when I speak and I say them even more when I'm nervous... so, I tried to cut out as many as I could! Anyways I hope you find the video some what interesting or entertaining.

If you have any more questions for suggestions for videos, please let me know! I'm working on a painting time lapse video right now and I'm hoping to have it finished in a week or two. So that is something to look forward to.

Fisheye Winter

I got a couple rolls of film developed not too long ago. One roll actually got lost so I'll never know what was on it. And I lost my reference number paper too so I can't even really complain. Just some bad luck I guess. Anyways here are some photos from my Fisheye camera.
An acceptable photos of me walking Captain.
Almost every roll of film has a picture of Justin making a face. Usually this face.
And a nice photo of Justin and Cap. I like this one.

Shop Update

I recently did a pretty big update in my shop. I added a bunch of 5x7" prints and a couple of 8x10" too. For now, some prints are only available in the smaller size. And of course I added some of my hand stamped bows too.
Rainbow Hair. (available in two sizes)
And lastly I added a couple of mini original paintings. These two can be found here.

Tribal Shark

Well here's another painting I finished up recently. (I haven't been feeling too good lately so no photos of me holding it.) It's a tribal shark! I started out not liking this painting but as I kept working on it, I started to like it more and more. Still doesn't beat the Tribal Sloth, in my opinion but it's still pretty cool.
The details for this one; painted with acrylics on 12x12" wood canvas. And below, as usual are some close up shots.
I think the jellyfish, the purple fish and the mermaids are my favourite. Look at the 3rd purple fish, look at it's face! Ha.
The only WIP pictures were the ones I put up on my instagram. Not much, but better than nothing, right?

The next one I've just started is this Koala painting. I'm also taking little videos, while I work on it. I hope to edit them all together to make a cool speed painting video! So i'm excited to see how that turns out.

Photo an hour: February 9th

9AM - 10AM
I was super sleepy so it took me a while to 'wake up'. When I finally did, I got ready for the day.
11AM
Met up with some friends to hang out for the day. We were a bit early for sushi so we stopped by the comic book shop first.
12PM
Had some yummy sushi!
1PM
Taking a street car and the subway to the Aquarium.
2PM - 3:30PM
Chilled at the Aquarium. First time for our friends and Justin. It was super crowded but everyone had fun, I think.

4PM
We decided to head to the mall and walk around a bit. I had a really awesome smoothy from Orange Julius. So good and I was so thirsty! And before we went home we had to stop at the other comic book shop too.

We all got home a little before 6PM, we were all tired and called it a day. And by then it was already getting dark anyways. The rest of the night I relaxed on the couch, (almost passed out.) Ate dinner and painted a bit. And that was my Sunday. Not an amazingly exciting day but it was a fun day that was spent mostly out of the house.

Sketchbook Sketches

Some new sketches from my sketchbook. Oh my! :]
I think I was trying to draw a witch in space, Kind of?
It's me with my favourite dog, my dog!
Another sketch that has something to do with magic.
 Cat girl's rule.
And I'll leave you with this cutie.

Cleaned Studio Area!

I decided that I would do a good cleaning of my studio (work) area. Well, and the whole damn apartment too because we are messy people. I was smart enough to take a before photo with my phone and below I took some more detailed pictures with my actual camera after I had finished. It took me about 3 hours to clean it all. Re-organized everything and got rid of a bunch of stuff. It's not perfect but it's so much better now.
So clean and look, almost nothing on the floor!
The white table is actually Justin's animation table (for paper animation) but we never use it. So he flattened the table for me and I'm turning into my fabric cutting and sewing table.
The shelve took me the longest to clean. It has a lot of stuff on it. From the bottom we have most of our paints. Mostly acrylics. Then I put some of Justin's print boxes so they wouldn't be on the floor with the dog hair.
Followed by my 'craft' shelf. Full of glues, glitter, tape, pencils, sewing stuff... etc. Second from the stop I have my packing supplies for my shop, along with my prints. And the top has things that I barely touch so they wouldn't be in the way. I have a big munny up there that I still haven't painted. I know, shame on me!
My bullion boards got a good cleaning too. They had a lot of crap on them, like business cards and just weird things I collected and needed to pin up there. But now I have room for new stuff!
And lastly, my desk/table. Where all the magic happens!

Review: January Movies

The first movie reviews of the year, but I have a question for you all. I've been thinking...
I know these movie reviews aren't a super popular post on my blog. (I do them mainly for myself so I can look back at the end of the year at how many good movies I've seen) But would you guys be interested in getting reviews of movies sooner, like the day after I've watched it? Or maybe weekly movie reviews?(like, every Sunday) Or do you think I should stick to the monthly posts?
Please let me know in the comments!!
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
I was super excited for this movie and it didn't disappoint! What a fun adventure movie. I don't have much to say about it other than I really enjoyed it and I left the theatre feeling happy and like I should go on a trip soon. It even made Justin think of saving money for a trip soon, and he isn't into traveling!

Recommend? Yes!
Re-watch? Yes!!
The Wolf of Wall Street
I went into this movie not really knowing what to expect. Only saw the trailer for it once a while ago... but it was awesome. I mean it was a bit long but it didn't feel long because so much was going on. I also didn't expect to laugh so much. This movie was lots of fun, with a bit of serious stuff, and great acting. The basic message of this movie... get rich, do what you want. No consequences. Haha.

I Frankenstein
I wasn't super interested in this movie but after seeing the trailer, Justin was set on seeing it. So I knew we'd eventually see it. This movie is totally up his alley. Anyways it worked out for us because he found some free movie passes so I don't feel like I wasted my money. This movie wasn't amazing but you should know what you were getting yourself into after seeing the trailer. If you thought this was supposed to be a movie with a deep story and awesome character development, then...no you were wrong. Haha, how did you get that out of the trailer? This is just a fun movie, don't take it so seriously. It was a pretty fast paced movie too, It never felt like it was dragging. The effects and CGI were nice, I liked the transformations from gargoyle to human the most. Very smooth.

Recommend? No
Re-watch? Nah.

I was so excited to see this when I first heard of it. What an interesting story, I love how it all develops. I loved how I was nodding along to a lot of what the characters were saying. I'm sure we've all experienced these things at one time or another. I can't say much else, or.. I don't want to give away too much about this one. Last thing I'll say about this one is that I liked how the computers weren't about destroying humans. I'm getting tired of every future movie being about computers hurting us. Or the world being destroyed or something horrible. I want some hope, some nice stuff, you know.
Anyways, I must see, for sure.

Best movie of the month: The Wolf of Wall Street, for being an overall great movie with amazing acting.
Worst movie of the month: I Frankenstein, for... you know, not being the most amazing movie, but then again not every movie has to be amazing.
Honourable mention(s): her, being a great movie, great love story and wonderfully shot.
